The MJPS Learning Powers

The Maroubra Junction Public School Learning Powers are seven learning habits of thinking and doing. These Learning Powers have been explicitly taught to all students at MJPS and continue to be embedded into learning across the school to help students become the most effective learners that they can be in the modern world.

These qualities help us make the learning process visible to students and are linked to our school's Core Value - Learning.

Learning Powers are learning dispositions which are habits of thinking and doing. Learners will require these dispositions to be successful, future oriented, lifelong learners. Our Learning Powers are also linked to the General Capabilities outlined in the Australian Curriculum. Students and teachers were involved in the development of the MJPS Learning Powers. The characters which represent each Learning Power have been designed to link in with Maroubra Beach making them relevant to our learners. Our Learning Powers support a shared language for learning across the Maroubra Junction Public School community. These Learning Powers are nurtured in our learning environments to ensure that everyone understands how to be an effective learner.
